Under the supervision of Mr. Guhdar Shekho, Director of the Independent Administration of Zakho, a 16-day campaign was launched concerning the Elimination of Violence Against Women by conducting a discussion session. The event was held in the presence of the president and vice presidents of the University of Zakho, in addition to several well-known public figures.

The participants included Mr. Shivan Othman, Director of Combating Violence Against Women and Family, Dr. Nizat Ismat, Lecturer at the General Psychology Department, Mr. Mohammed Salih, Sociologist, and Ms. Safia Shekho, Former Member of the Parliament.

Throughout the session, light was shed on certain matters, namely; the violence that is being practiced against women, elimination of discrimination, and building a community bereft of violence and prevailed with peach.
